The council hosted a virtual GameChanger Ideas Festival focused on themes related to the election. Events took “winning” off the table, instead seeking to share ideas by a group of scholars across the political spectrum. Programs sought not consensus but understanding. Participants were challenged to engage in good faith with viewpoints they may oppose. Partnering with the ND Newspaper Association, KFYR Television, Prairie Public Radio, ND Native Vote, the League of Cities, and the League of Women Voters they created webinars moderated by journalists, scholars, and business leaders who interviewed national figures on election-related issues. They also hosted a weekly newspaper column written by a constitutional scholar on issues threatening our democracy.
