Mississippi Humanities
Mississippi has some of the most restrictive voting laws in the nation with a long history of voter disfranchisement. The goal of our “Mississippi Voting” initiative was to raise awareness of that history and to examine both the importance of voting and the lingering barriers many voters continue to face. We partnered with Mississippi Public Broadcasting to produce radio, television and digital programs which addressed not only current voting and election issues, but also the challenges many Mississippians still face in exercising their right to vote and to participate in the electoral processes of our state.
