Where We Stand with Diversity in Business

Nevada Humanities’ Why It Matters programming investigates various aspects of democracy and civic engagement – how it works, who gets to participate, and the threats it faces. At this talk, we investigate the diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in the business world. Are these efforts successful in breaking down systemic barriers to participation? Are companies becoming more just and fair?

Why It Matters: Where We Stand with Diversity in Business welcomes journalist Ruth Umoh, who covers various aspects of diversity and inclusion in business and society at large. Umoh has worked for CNBC, Forbes Magazine, the New York Daily News, and Rolling Stone Magazine, and her work has been featured on Yahoo Finance and Time Out. Umoh is currently the editor-in-chief of The Filament and is in conversation with Alan Deutschman, Professor and Reynolds Chair of Business Journalism at the Reynolds School of Journalism at the University of Nevada, Reno.
